Balconies and beach clubs are trending on modern mega yachts

The growing trend of cantilevered "sea terraces" on luxury mega yachts was evident at this year's Monaco Yacht Show and again at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Balconies are bound to be high on the wish-list of charter guests as they become de rigeur with the new breed of owners commissioning these impressive motor yachts.

Hydraulic balconies add wow factor, lending outsiders an alluring peek into the sanctuary of the saloon or suite beyond. They add living space onboard, open these vast vessels to natural light, sea breezes and views, and create a retreat, often for the principal charter guests to savour time alone – perhaps a morsel of breakfast as the day begins, or cocktails and sweet nothings à deux illuminated only by the stars above.
