The Monaco Super Yacht Show

Over four incredible days, 34,000 visitors experienced the debut of 45 superlative yachts among a line-up of 125 extraordinary one-off superyachts and displays from 580 leading companies from the yachting industry over an incredible 9,000 squares metres of exhibition space. Supertenders, supercars and premium products from prestige lifestyle brands completed the mix.

The unrivalled pinnacle of the global superyacht and charter industry calendar, MYS is a significant event for the world's leading charter brokers. Luxury Charter Group was there to inspect the luxury charter yachts new to the market and some established vessels that have been enhanced and refitted. We met with Captains, crews and managers, stepped on board to really appreciate their attributes and unique features and on several occasions, enjoyed extended hospitality with lunch or dinner to savour their culinary expertise.

Here is just a sample of the superyachts on show, and our pick of the luxury charter yachts presented this year.

JUBILEE

The 361ft (110m) superyacht JUBILEE picked up two accolades at the fourth Monaco Yacht Show Awards held on the eve of this year's Monaco Yacht Show. The largest yacht to ever attend the Monaco Yacht Show, JUBILEE was awarded the MYS 2017 Exterior Design Award as well as the MYS 2017 Finest New Superyacht Award.

Launched in early 2017, JUBILEE is the largest yacht to emerge from the Netherlands and the biggest yacht to be constructed by Oceanco. She boasts a sleek, elongated profile, which encompasses six decks, arranged in thrilling sequence that accentuates her jaw-dropping profile. Naval architect, Igor Lobanov's clever use of flowing lines creates the illusion of multi-level decks, balanced by her wonderful pool deck complete with an aquarium and vast Beach Club.

Built to the Passenger Yacht Code, her elegant Sam Sorgiovanni designed interior is both spacious and comfortable offering accommodation for up to 30 guests in 15 staterooms including an entirely private Owner's deck.

VERTIGE

Luxury charter yacht VERTIGE was built in 2017 by Tankoa, and is a 50m (164ft) motor yacht that comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests in six staterooms, with interiors and exteriors designed by Francesco Paszkowski.

The decks of charter yacht VERTIGE are exceptionally well-appointed across three levels, with ample space for relaxation or socialising. The alfresco space aft of the main deck offers outdoor dining options, a fabulous sunpad lounge area, a wet bar and the option of complete shade.

Adjacent to the skylounge, the upper deck of VERTIGE has more alfresco dining and seating options. Luxury charter yacht VERTIGE also has extra seating available on her foredeck. Along with superb views, the sundeck offers a Jacuzzi, wet bar with seating, sun lounges and dining table.

The yacht also features a garage side deck that allows guests to access water toys without disrupting those on the fold-out teak Beach Club.

AQUARIUS

Delivered at the end of 2016, the 302ft (92m) Sinot-designed Feadship superyacht AQUARIUS was designed for long-range global cruising in complete opulence. Luxury charter yacht AQUARIUS has accommodation for 12 guests in seven staterooms and more than her share of features which make her ideal for charter vacations.

AQUARIUS offers charter guests a large Owner's deck with private terrace and media room, swimming pool that converts to a dance floor, massage room and beauty salon, drop down terrace for workouts with a view, and interiors that are tranquil and soothing with a marine-themed palette. Her beautiful saloon is completely devoid of supporting pillars, creating a truly open-plan feel inspired by her Owner's experience in the luxury accommodation industry.

ARETI

At 289ft (85m) ARETI is an Andrew Winch-designed Lürssen superyacht can accommodate up to 18 guests. With a brilliant Portuguese deck providing masses of space for entertaining and relaxing, ARETI also boasts a large Master cabin with private terrace, interiors that are laid-back luxury in the 'Beach chic' style, and an oversized Beach Club with spa, sauna, Jacuzzi, full depth plunge pool and massage therapy showers.

DA VINCI

The 163.71ft /49.9m Mangusta E165 open DA VINCI is truly a masterpiece. Built in 2017 by Overmarine, her exterior styling is by Stefano Righini. Blending performance and aesthetics, DA VINCI is capable of reaching high speeds of up to 38 knots with ease and in total comfort.

DA VINCI has accommodation for up to 12 guests in five spacious suites, with décor that is a fresh, avant garde take on traditional marine pairings of navy and white. She boasts an open plan layout for socialising and enjoying dining inside and on deck, a large Jacuzzi and an array of watertoys for hours of fun.

CLOUD 9

Brand new to charter in 2017, this impeccable 74m (242ft) luxury motor yacht was custom built by CRN in Italy, with interiors designed by Winch Design and exterior styling by Zuccon International Project.

CLOUD 9 boasts impressive volume – more than 10,764 square feet (1,000 square metres) spread over five decks, plus a sub deck. With a beam of 13.5 metres, living and staterooms are exceptionally spacious. Forward of the Master suite is a large alfresco space, characteristic of flow between enclosed and open spaces.

The yacht comfortably accommodates up to 12 for charter in a master suite, VIP suite and six guest cabins, in addition to 22 crew members in 13 cabins plus berths for four staff in two cabins.

APOGEE

APOGEE is a 203ft (62m) motor yacht, custom built in 2003 by Codecasa and refit in 2016. This Italian-crafted luxury charter vessel can be chartered in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. APOGEE is beautifully appointed in warm mahogany and marble, with accommodation for 12 guests in seven luxurious cabins, each with ensuite and sitting area. On deck, numerous spaces are perfect for charter guests to dine, lounge, soak up the sunshine or splash in the Jacuzzi.

In addition to its sweeping circular staircase, the main foyer includes an elevator that links all five decks. The bridge-deck saloon is a leisure destination unto itself features a 22-foot-long backlit onyx-topped bar modeled after Monaco's Cafe de Paris and Miami's Delano Hotel. APOGEE caters to adventure and watersport enthusiasts will a full garage of Waverunners, kayaks, water skis, wakeboard, snorkel gear, and fishing equipment.

GAME CHANGER

Launched in 2017, the 226.87ft (69.15m) Damen Sea Axe 6911 superyacht support vessel GAME CHANGER is a superb support vessel for charter guests who want to have more fun off the beaten track, equipped with larger tenders, helicopter, guides, pilots and security personnel. Made for exploring remote destinations, GAME CHANGER can carry a huge amount of extra provisions, fuel, luggage and spare parts. GAME CHANGER comes complete with a 11.3m Wajer tender, a 10.5m Damen RIB and a U-Boat Worx submersible, plus a 2.04m stern extension to allow for a helicopter hangar.

SEVEN SINS

Built in 2017 by Italian yard Sanlorenzo, charter yacht SEVEN SINS is the largest motor yacht to date from the brand, at 52m (171ft). The steel-hulled superyacht has accommodation for 10 guests in five staterooms. One of the groundbreaking elements on the aft section is the large swimming pool on the main deck. Boasting a transparent floor, it allows natural light to filter into the beach club below. This space features two folding terraces, one on each side of the yacht, serving as platforms with direct access to the sea.

The same area can be transformed into a garage with a controlled flooding system for the storage of a tender up to eight-metres in length. This part of the boat also houses a fully equipped, customised gym. The internal layout hosts a large Owner's apartment in the bow on the main deck including a private office, a full-beam cabin and an ensuite in sculpted marble.

There are two spacious saloons, one on the main deck and one on the upper deck and external living areas on the main, upper and sun deck. Other impressive attributes include an internal staircase in Carrara marble, a glass exhibition case displaying the owner's artwork, and a sixth guest cabin on the bridge deck.

LILI

LILI is a 180ft (55m) luxury motor yacht from Amels, built in 2017 and available for charter in the Mediterranean. Her sophisticated Tim Heywood-styled exterior and tan-coloured hull make a distinctive head-turner in every port she visits. The main features of luxury charter yacht LILI are an oversized sundeck, 4m pool with counter-current jets, bridge deck Master suite with private terrace, VIP suite with folding balcony, folding balconies in the main saloon and fabulous Beach Club with steam room and shower.
